Computers for All Children

We are a place to learn about giving, and a place to discover how to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The staggering truth is 60% of the students in under-privilege communities and rural areas have never turned on a computer.

Computers are not available in the majority of the school communities, especially in rural schools. Students are at a clear disadvantage. The government’s curriculum requires computer classes, however, they do not supply computers.

None of the elementary school students and the majority of the middle school students in the rural schools had ever touched a computer prior to our LAB in Schools program.

Our highly effective charitable computer donation program produces a meaningful impact on the quality of life for many throughout the world.

How you can get involved?

We accept a wide variety of computer donations from individuals and corporations throughout the United States. Computer donations, tablets, laptops, gadgets, corporate bulk donations of servers, workstations, hardware, or complete desktop computer systems, including printers go a long way.

They are suitable for building computer labs in impoverished schools that can't afford such technology.

A few more examples of what we do with your computer donations and surplus new electronics include supporting youth centers, conflict recovery programs, or running other charitable programs that may help benefit the communities in which we all live.

There is a great need to extend and repurpose our technology. We help students, teachers, people seeking vocational retraining and education, and other great causes. It’s an unforgettable learning experience that works to enhance and align the spirit of everyone in those communities.

Whatever you create with your giving, financial relief, education, progress, hope... we will all leave with a renewed outlook and motivation for doing the same.

Electronic waste or e-waste is an emerging waste management problem we are facing as a global community.

These electronic products comprise a multitude of components with valuable materials, some containing toxic substances, that can have an adverse impact on human health and the environment. To protect our environment, Making The Shift has become a certified e-waste collector, and we safely recycle laptops, servers, wifi routers, tablets, cellphones, solar panels, projectors, PC's switches, and many e-waste annually.

All the e-waste we collect goes to a state-certified e-waste recycling facility that is required to meet the highest of standards in the disassembly and recycling of e-waste materials. Plus, our e-Waste recycling operation creates employment and training opportunities for people facing barriers to employment. We accept all types of electronic donations (working computers, tablets, cellular phones, DVD players).
